Forum Seafood Village Restaurant : Lunching by the River I

My dearest long-time secondary schoolmate brought me to this place some time ago and I quite like the hearty and rustic feel of its lunch.  Honestly, if not for her I would not have step into this place which looks suspiciously like a tourist trap.  My banker friend wanted to buy me lunch for fighting the CBD crowd just to eat with him.  Not wanting to burn a hole in his pocket, wonderful me suggested Forum Seafood which dishes out $10 set lunch.  Hey, don't I deserve a caring/understanding/virtuous friend award??

Sweet and sour soup is probably the only soup you can order.  Add some vinegar, the soup can give one some sharkfin kick without torturing the poor sharks.  My lotus root soup tasted a bit foreign so I didn't finish it.

Hot plate beef was as good as any tze char stall.  I love the spring onion and ginger while I am no big fan of beef.  The couple of slices I had were nevertheless very tender.

Well, the batter for this fried cod was way too thick although the fish tasted yummy but it lacked the oily and smooth texture of what a cod should be.

Steamed cod may be a better choice to avoid the thick batter and black fungus gave extra collagen.  Good for CBD's office ladies!

I ate the kailan to fullfill my veg intake of the day.  Really nothing that good or bad about it.  Just the typical vegetables.
