PS Cafe and Forty Hands: Sunday Mornings

All Sunday mornings should be spend here.

With these babies.
.

I half suspect that I need to dress up a little for the Palais outlet. I am usually quite casual for Dempsey and I am so right. Other than one family table and one table with four rather matured ladies, every other table in my visual vicinity were young couples.  The guys and gals were all dressed to impress, even on a Sunday.  Can't blame them for upping the dressy quotient, we all want to look good for our dates.  The energy between these couples were as distinct as the smell of truffle oil in our shoestrings fries.  It's not difficult to fall/stay in love while sharing these crispy shoestrings truffle fries that explode with taste of truffle once pop into the mouth.

I like my caesar salad that came with a poached egg and tons of parmesan shavings. I ordered salad to balance out the sinful truffle fries.  The leaves were crisp, fresh and that was all I needed.

Another healthy option will be truffle eggs with rocket and smoked salmon.  Salmon, dill and rocket are the best of friends but dill is not found here.  The truffle taste in scrambled eggs was not as distinct as the fries. But everything on the plate was well-balanced and went with the heavenly truffle fries!  Good brunch should always come with good coffee and for good coffee we headed to 40 Hands.

Lest you cannot find the shop, the good people of 40 hands put up their sign on their backdoor facing the carpark.

40 hands is much more relaxed with all kinds of people running in for their coffee fix or chilling out.  The mean age at 40 hands was definitely ... ahem higher than PS Cafe hence better for people like us :)  No young men and women trying to impress each other here. Just families, friends and couples who are totally at ease together. We ordered our usual flat white and double espresso and spend the rest of our Sunday morning browsing at the newly opened Books Actually just across the road.
