Of Pique Nique and Antionette

Pique Nique's business cards, whoopie pies and white chocolate brownie, Antionette's bill container , carbonara gnocchi (Clockwise from top left)

Was at Antoinette (Mandarin Gallery) yesterday. Thought it will be a nice place for a girly lunch and it really is. Their decor screams opulent and the nice chap attending to us wore a panerai. Could not help but to notice it flashing at me whenever the chap stretched his hand over our table. Food-wise, I made a mistake of ordering carbonara which was very very heavy but G's egg gratin was fine. In the end, we have to cancel our order of Antionette and I will need to go back to try this cake soon.

Just a short note on Pique Nique since they are owned by the same Sugar Daddy group. I was not impressed by the casual cafe which took over Mac's place at Takashimaya. Decor is really sweet and the wow factor ends there. The lemon chiffon was citrusy. Mac and cheese was ok. Cannot say the same about the whoopie pies though. They were dry, sweet and not much to my taste.

Agree with you on Pique Nicque. The wow stops at the decor.

Xinli: Yeah I went several times. No big deal about the food yet.
