Cocotte: From A Casual Fling to A Casual Affair

It has been more than a year since Cocotte opened its door. Got really tired of white-table-cloth-kinda-dining at the end of last year, I went to try Cocotte out. Tripe was not as tender as I like, some dishes were overly salty and desserts were mediocre. Like a fling meant be to be forgotten, Cocotte did not deserve a space in memory.

All thanks to a rather unexpected email lecturing me on THE protocol of French dining I am reminded of Cocotte - a casual French eatery that dishes up rustic fare. We can eat, laugh, share, enjoy ourselves at Cocotte and no one will chill me for wearing slippers and skimpy stuff. So off to Cocotte after a year-long haitus.

Tokyo: Everything in Ginza 銀座 Looks Nice

After a hot morning and fabulous ramen at Tsujiki, we went to Ginza. The elegance of Omotesando appeals to me more. I did not want to walk most of the buildings that sell branded goods but selectively entered a few. The apple store and Muji looks nice so we went in to grab some gifts for friends and myself.

Tokyo: Waking Up Early for Tsujiki Market 築地市場 is Nice

We woke up early for Tsujiki Market 築地市場 but the tuna auction was sadly closed to public. Apparently things are rather fluid so if you really must see the auction do double confirm even in Tokyo before heading down.

Tokyo: Everything in Harajuku 原宿 is Nice

I like to shop and eat but a visit to Harajuku 原宿 will not be completed without Meiji Jingu 明治神宮. Indeed, the walk in and out of this idyllic shrine dedicated to Emperor Meiji prepared us for whatever deafening consumerism radiating from the upbeat streets of Omotesando 表参道

Salmon Sandwiches Face-Off!

There are days and there are days with intense cravings for smoked salmon. My smoked salmon craving went crazy last week and most of the time I have to make do with a simple salmon sandwich.

Don't all salmon sandwiches look enchantingly pink?

The Orange Thimble

The good thing about mobile blogging is I get to post wherever I like. Everything is really quite seamless. I just sneakily take photos with my phone's camera and tap a short post. These days you do not need to read so much of my whining. The bad thing is the process drinks up battery. Lazy me usually upload a grand total of 1 photo. This cafe I just discovered is so pretty. I don't mind draining more than half of my phone's battery life so that you get to see more.
