Carpenter and Cook

For I am ever so shallow to chase after new openings.

Everyday is a vintage tea party

And reopenings.

We went down to Bukit Timah Market the moment it reopened for our hokkien mee, fried carrot cake, popiah and satay. But most of the stalls were still closed. Thankfully, Carpenter and Cook was in plan.

Everything in the shop is for sale.

The vintage theme is like a sure-win formula for cafes these days.

Carpenter and Cook is however more than an appealing theme and pleasing decor. Its tarts are really fresh and delish. The outstanding passion fruit meringue tart was a delicate balance of sweet and sour. The crust though hard to break was light and crisp.

Frangipane came with the same tart base and was filled with dense and not too sweet almond cream. Am very happy with my almond cream life recently. Another outstanding one I ate was the mandarine from Tiong Bahru Bakery
